Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.

Mrs. Fawzia Braine/Hannan, is my mum’s sister, who worked, lived, travelled abroad. Growing up, she was always in the shadow of our lives. She was a smart, strong, caring, courageous lady. She is the kind of person who will fight for you. Who will never let you fall. Who stood up for her believes, for people. Who gave her true opinion. Who agreed and disagreed with people. Fighting her own battles in life, still will give her hand to anyone who needed her help. Whether there was sadness or joy, she will be there for you as a mum, daughter, sister, aunt, friend. No matter how busy she is, she took the time and trouble to visit people, to keep in touch with them. To let them know that they are important to her. She kept the family connections going. Her courage, her wisdom took her to many places/platforms in life. She was a woman who had her heart in the right place!
She, working in Hong Kong and me living in Belgium, it’s not easy to connect or get together very often. But somehow, we managed to telephone/skype each other time to time. I was able to talk to her about my challenges in life. We shared many conversations about our lives, past, present, marriages etc. We agreed and disagreed on things. I admire her for many things. I have many fond memories of her being there for my family in countless times. July 2011 is an unforgettable holiday for me. After many years of being apart, I was able to meet her again. Spend time with her. I am so glad that she was able to meet my husband, Izmeer and son, Gavin. I will cherish our travel, laughter together!!! You left a big hole in my heart, which could never be filled. It has been a great privilege to have known you.
I am still getting to grip of the tragedy of loosing you. I am still in denial of believing that you had really gone. Though you are gone, you had left a great legend behind. An inspirational one! I am sure that you are still watching over your loved ones from heaven. That’s your nature! As Frank Sinatra says “I did it my way”, indeed you did.
Aunty, I Love you and miss you very much ………
Your niece,
Sheherazan Ahamat/Mahamoor
